About The Position

Stoa Group Construction is hiring an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support the planning, execution, and closeout of multifamily construction projects in the Carolinas region. This Assistant Project Manager (APM) will work directly with the Project Manager and Superintendents t to keep projects moving, help drive coordination and documentation, support buyout and procurement, and stay on top of the details that keep the schedule and quality on track.

Requirements

  • Experience supporting construction projects in an APM / Project Engineer / similar role (multifamily preferred)
  • Strong organization and follow-through (you're the person who catches things before they become issues)
  • Comfortable in both environments: jobsite + office/admin work
  • Strong communicator with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams
  • Familiarity with construction documentation and workflows (RFIs, submittals, logs, change orders)
  • Procore experience strongly preferred (or ability to learn fast)

Responsibilities

  • Support bid procurement and help with early cost input during design
  • Help coordinate jobsite startup needs (trailer, furniture, equipment, setup readiness)
  • Assist with subcontractor/vendor prequalification and contract document preparation
  • Help develop trade scopes of work, schedule exhibits, and schedules of value (SOVs)
  • Track insurance and subcontractor compliance requirements
  • Visit jobsite regularly and support Superintendent with coordination needs
  • Assist with material deliveries and making sure materials are available ahead of need dates
  • Attend weekly coordination meetings and safety meetings as assigned
  • Help maintain strong subcontractor/vendor relationships
  • Monitor schedule progress and support weekly updates
  • Maintain project logs (RFI, ASI, submittals, shop drawings, transmittals, etc.)
  • Support procurement tracking so long-lead materials don't become schedule problems
  • Help monitor work quality and ensure installation aligns with plans/specs
  • Coordinate shop drawing/submittal workflow and make sure reviews don't delay field progress
  • Support inspection documentation and coordination with internal QC and required third-party/state inspectors
  • Assist with change order review to confirm extra work is truly out of scope
  • Assist with punch list preparation and closeout tracking
  • Help collect warranty documentation, closeout materials, and project final documentation
