About The Position

Colliers Engineering & Design is looking for a motivated Assistant Project Manager to join our Government Services Division in Tampa, FL. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support the planning and delivery of impactful municipal infrastructure projects while learning from experienced project leaders. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contribute to client success, and build a strong foundation for a growing project management career, all while helping shape communities across the region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related degree.
  • 3-8 years of work on public infrastructure improvement projects and development reviews.
  • EIT required.
  • Ability to track and oversee multiple projects.
  • Effective written and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • PE preferred
  • Proficiency with AutoCad Civil 3D and Hydrology Design Software preferred.
  • Experience coordinating and overseeing the work efforts of assigned staff regarding scope, schedule, quality and budget of projects preferred.
  • Knowledge of Florida Water Management District and FDEP regulations is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform site investigations and conduct due diligence including the review of land development ordinances and applicable agency regulations to determine site constraints, utility availability and conflicts, design criteria, and infrastructure requirements.
  • Prepare conceptual designs for public infrastructure projects based upon public sector client input and the information obtained during site investigations and due diligence.
  • Prepare construction plans, technical specifications, and bid documents on public sector infrastructure projects including curbs, sidewalks, curb ramps, parking lots, roadways, drainage, storm water management, utilities, and recreational facilities.
  • Prepare construction cost estimates on public sector infrastructure projects.
  • Evaluate permits that are needed from outside review agencies to allow for the construction of a public infrastructure project. Knowledge of Florida Water Management District and FDEP regulations is desirable.
  • Review site plans, subdivision plans and other documents including storm water reports submitted by developers in support of applications for development approvals to determine compliance with applicable development regulations and ordinances.
  • Organize and track project tasks.
  • Delegate work to and schedule work for staff.
  • Coordinate with other company disciplines on projects.
