Assistant Project Manager - General Contracting Louis Ptak Construction has a perfect opportunity for you. Louis Ptak Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for our General Contracting division. You will work closely with project managers and superintendents to ensure our projects are completed on schedule and within budget.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Assistant Project Management in residential construction required with budgets of $2M- $8M and total of 4+ years in the construction industry.
  • Passion for building high-end custom residential homes.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents (drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, team-building skills, and a strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, and MS Project required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel (for budgeting), and Outlook.
  • Able to travel to job sites (mainly in SF, Marin County, NorthBay, and Atherton) as needed.
  • Work from our Novato office 2-3 days per week when not on a job site.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years as an estimator is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Project Coordination: Collaborate closely with project managers and superintendents to coordinate construction activities and help them complete the project on schedule and on budget.
  • Estimating: Contribute to estimating efforts, including take-offs, developing scopes of work, and reviewing subcontractor proposals.
  • Documentation Management: Handle project documentation, including plans, specifications, contracts, purchase orders, shop drawings, submittals, RFI logs, billing, and other related documents.
  • On-Site Support: Support superintendents with coordinating deliveries and working on-site 1-2 days per week. Maintain short-term lookahead schedules and regularly walk projects to assess performance and address deficiencies.
  • Subcontractor Assessment: Evaluate subcontractor proposals and schedules for accuracy.
  • Critical Thinking: Apply critical thinking skills to solve complex problems and make well-informed decisions.
