About The Position

The position involves the administration of construction projects and assisting the Project Manager in managing these projects. The Project Engineer will be responsible for various tasks including maintaining cost control ledgers, preparing billings, estimating and negotiating change orders, and supervising project engineers and clerical staff.

Requirements

  • Engineering, Construction Management or Architectural degree, or equivalent experience
  • Thorough understanding of plans and specifications
  • Field experience (Project Engineer or Assistant Superintendent)
  • Effective written and verbal communications skills and organizational skills
  • 3 - 4 years construction experience
  • 1+ years scheduling and estimating experience
  • Special Projects Experience Needed

Responsibilities

  • Perform all Project Engineer job responsibilities
  • Maintain cost control ledger and job cost statements
  • Prepare billings and expedite payments
  • Estimate, prepare and negotiate Change Orders
  • Write subcontract Change Orders
  • Set up and maintain all aspects of the CMiC system
  • Prepare bid packages and solicit and evaluate bids
  • Write project procedures
  • Review plans for completeness and accuracy
  • Prepare Purchase Orders and Rental Agreements
  • Supervise and train Project Engineers and clerical staff
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned
