Clean Energy Ventures, a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources is seeking an Assistant Project Manager II to support the review and execution of construction RFPs and EPCs for various distributed power projects. This role will provide oversight of the construction, development and implementation of commercial solar, CHP and Midstream projects and opportunities in execution of the Clean Energy Ventures project plan.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in engineering from an accredited college.
  • At least three years’ experience working with various construction teams with an emphasis in renewable energy construction and renewable energy asset management.
  • A working knowledge of larger commercial solar projects and a proficiency of smaller residential solar applications.
  • MS Office proficiency and effective communication skills required.
  • Valid driver’s license; 50%-75% travel required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the construction of commercial solar projects while working closely with our external “owner’s representative” to insure that projects are completed as designed, budgeted, and scheduled.
  • Conduct inspections, which requires the interpretation and implementation of contract specifications. Note any deficiencies, record on a punch list, and direct the contractor to effect remediation. Follow up with contractors on remediation activities.
  • Perform maintenance inspections of commercial solar assets and schedule repairs as needed with the contractors.
  • Oversee electrical and construction plans.
  • Effectively represent the company and maintain relationships with EPC contractors, owner’s representatives, and property owners through, inspections, system overviews and technical support meetings.
  • Oversee the commissioning and testing program for new commercial solar projects.
  • Manage permitting process.
  • Participate in the asset management process to determine deficiencies in project performance.
  • Provide support to Quality Inspector I and Quality Inspector II personnel.
  • Assist with the preparation of various reports and presentations for senior NJR management.
  • Maintain effective internal and external contacts.
  • Mentor and train fellow employees of lesser experience.
