Position Summary: The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for helping the planning and leading of projects from creation to completion, ensuring customer and organizational success factors are achieved within the prescribed project timeframe and funding parameters. This position. The goal is flawless execution of the project.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend architectural blueprints, drawings and specifications - Required
  • Basic math and algebra skills, along with the ability to understand ruler measurements - Required
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills, including verbal, written, email and telephone - Required
  • Ability to work independently and/or within in a team and use sound judgment - Required
  • Advanced time management and organizational skills and be able to prioritize and multi-task - Required
  • Quality conscious with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to details - Required
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills - Required
  • Ability to work extra hours as projects and workloads require - Required
  • Experience with contract management & negotiation - Required

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in business management, construction management, or similar discipline - Preferred
  • Construction project management experience (experience in glass & glazing industry preferred) - Preferred
  • Proficient in the use of PC and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook and Word) - Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Will help coordinate and manage labor requirements combined with directing project material and resource needs within a highly collaborative work environment through interaction with internal and external project stakeholders
  • Help with the creation and implementation of project plans in accordance with business requirements
  • Assists with the coordination of bids for projects with the help of estimators by analyzing blueprints and spec sheets to determine material and labor requirements.
  • Assist with calls on regular and prospective customers to maintain relationship and/or secure future sales.
  • Ensuring that clients' needs are met as the project evolves.
  • Assist with project proposals or plans to determine time frame, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phased of project.
  • Assist in preparation, delivery and tracking of all change orders and subcontracts.
  • Coordinates project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies.
  • Continuously keep the project sponsors, key stakeholders, and project team informed as to the project's purpose, background, scope, requirements and critical issues.
  • Assist in developing project management standards and tools which include procedures, templates, tools, sharing best practices, etc.
  • Promotes organization in industry, manufacturing or trade associations.
  • Ensures a safe working environment and full compliance with all Omni, OSHA, State and Local standards.
  • Carries out assistance to the project managers and other supervisors in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
