The Assistant Project Manager & Field Estimator plays a crucial dual role in overseeing renovation projects and preparing accurate proposals for multi-family construction. This position involves gathering necessary information for project estimates and managing the execution of projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget.

  • Travel to potential job locations and build a detailed scope of work
  • Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents
  • Identify labor, material and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents
  • Prepare estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information; Review with General Manager
  • Work with office staff to generate proposal then deliver to Territory Sales Manager and/or customer
  • Coordinate projects and communicate to the project execution team
  • Review and manage the entire scope of planned projects including any supporting documentation
  • Manage sub-contractors and in-house staff during renovation process
  • Interface with property management staff, maintenance teams, sub-contractors, vendors and suppliers, and owners/asset managers
  • Inspect actively renovated apartment units daily to verify work is being performed according to specifications and according to timetable and budget; determine plan of correction if deficiencies exist
  • Maintain inventory of supplies for renovation, coordinate with purchasing department as required
  • Review and approve payroll and draws
  • Assist in developing database of local sub-contractors and vendors
  • Comply with M&M Painting and Construction policies, procedures, standard reporting and quality standards to ensure consistency in execution and operations
  • Bilingual
  • 3 years of supervising experience
  • 3 years of construction estimating experience
  • 2 years of multifamily construction experience (preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills
