Join our Electrical Construction team and play a key role in one of our largest renewable energy projects. We're seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager to support the Abercrombie Solar Project near Fargo, ND beginning in Spring 2026. In this role, you'll work closely with project managers, field leadership, and tradespeople to ensure schedules, budgets, and quality standards are met while gaining hands-on experience in large-scale electrical construction. This is a project-based position with an expected duration of two years, with the potential for continuation based on business needs.

  • Collaborate with project team to plan, setup, and manage the Abercrombie Solar project.
  • Navigate and use Egan's project management systems and processes.
  • Promote a positive safety culture by ensuring Egan's safety policies and goals are communicated and followed on assigned projects.
  • Participate in construction document analysis to develop clear and consistent interpretations.
  • Become familiar with the materials, equipment, and components of the technical systems installed by Egan's trades.
  • Advise project management of potential problems, work interferences, schedule difficulties, and the like as it relates to assigned duties.
  • Manage people in various trades on the job sites.
  • Assist QA/QC process via visual inspections and documentation.
  • Compose and edit letters, memos, reports, and procedures; assist with change orders, project billings, and change request pricing.
  • Process day-to-day administrative items (e.g., supply requisitions, RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, procurement take-offs) as directed.
  • Learn how to interpret project schedules, anticipate manpower requirements, and measure subcontractor performance.
  • Assist with the research and preparation of field change requests to resolve design issues.
  • Participate in the continuous updating and accurate generation of as-built documents.
  • Attend project coordination and owner/contractor/architect/engineer meetings as directed.
  • Assume a proactive approach to career development; utilize available resources within Egan as well as request alternative instruction to learn how to become a successful project manager.
  • Solicit and review project submittals; coordinate with project manager and purchasing.
  • Build strong internal partnerships; work collaboratively with other Egan groups to support Egan's Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Use basic understanding of financials and reporting to support a PM in related responsibilities.
  • Perform additional duties and assignments as requested/needed.
  • 2 year associate's degree or bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Construction, Engineering Design, or related field, or equivalent level of technical training and related construction experience.
  • 0-2 years of construction and/or general business experience.
  • Daily on-site presence at project location.
  • Available to start May/June 2026.

  • Excellent MS Office and Google Suite skills and ability/desire to learn new software systems.
  • Must obtain OSHA 30 certification within six (6) months from date of hire if not already certified.

  • Salary Range: $54,880 - $68,600, subject to such factors as experience, education, and/or skill set plus potential annual discretionary bonus.
