About The Position

STV is seeking an Assistant Project Manager - Data Centers, Mission Critical for their Construction Management group in Phoenix, AZ. We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager with a strong history of experience representing owner’s on capital programs, facility upgrades, renovations and additions. The successful candidate will assume a role in our division managing Capital Program Management/Owners Representative assignments. In this role the Assistant Project Manager will work with the team to manage all phases of the project life cycle including but not limited to budgeting, planning, design, bidding, construction, commissioning, move management planning and close out services. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in project management techniques, concepts, principles, and standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels internally and externally.
  • Knowledge and ability to creatively resolve issues.
  • Knowledge and ability to supervise people including recruitment, training, performance management, and people development.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft applications, including MS Project and Share Point.
  • Experience with project management software and applications.
  • Ability to forecast project challenges and define solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager in leading the project team and goal setting.
  • Develop policies and procedures to guide the project/program and mentor team members.
  • Carry out duties as assigned by the Project Manager to achieve successful project completion.
  • Monitor design and construction activities to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and quality standards.
  • Evaluate and develop project budgets, cash flow analyses, and cost estimates.
  • Review purchase orders, change orders, and invoices.
  • Forecast, identify, and address areas of potential liabilities and risks.
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain project schedules.
  • Ensure that project objectives are met.
  • Maintain relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors.
  • Manage conflict resolution.
  • Communicate complex ideas and persuade others to adopt positions for project success.
  • Assist in the evaluation, development, and selection of standards, protocols, policies, and procedures.
