About the position

The Assistant Program Director is responsible for supervising and coordinating residential supports and services for individuals in Supportive Living, Personal Assistance, and Family-based programs. This role acts as a liaison between Direct Support Professional (DSP) staff and administration, ensuring the effective day-to-day operation of assigned sites. The position requires maintaining adequate site supervision, enforcing record-keeping guidelines, and ensuring that programs for individuals with developmental disabilities achieve optimal outcomes while being cost-effective.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adequate site supervision and conduct unannounced visits.
  • Maintain records and enforce guidelines for record-keeping.
  • Assist managers in maintaining required documentation for each service component.
  • Help individuals access community resources and ensure timely funding requests.
  • Serve as the primary admission and discharge officer for SSMS.
  • Assist in designing and implementing MR/DD programs.
  • Ensure completion of TSNs for staff before they work with individuals supported.
  • Review and approve staff schedules and activity calendars.
  • Conduct monthly staff meetings and maintain notes.
  • Monitor utilization of electronic records system.
  • Encourage customer satisfaction through regular contact with persons served and stakeholders.
  • Assume duties of Program Manager in their absence.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in managing community supports and services for persons with developmental disabilities.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid waiver and DIDD requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
  • Must meet state and local requirements regarding background checks.
