About The Position

The Assistant Program Director is responsible for assisting the Program Director with the oversight and supervision of services provided to UAC, as well as management of programmatic, administrative, and operational systems related to the care of UAC. The Assistant Program Director assists with the provisions of regular and timely reports regarding operations, services, and finances, establishing a respective and supportive work environment and ensuring open and transparent communication with stakeholders. The Assistant Program Director serves as the secondary liaison with stakeholders, and in absence of the Program Director, is responsible and accountable for the overall operation and implementation of all services provided.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in education, psychology, sociology or other relevant behavioral science.
  • Minimum of five years’ of progressive employment experience within a social service or residential child-care agency or organization
  • Reliable transportation
  • Valid driver license
  • Valid vehicle insurance
  • Licensed Child-Care Administrator’s License required (or must qualify to test for the license within six months of hire)
  • Able to show proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases transmitted by the respiratory route if working directly with UC
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Windows (Microsoft Word, Excel) and a variety of online database systems, managing files and records, designing forms and other office procedures and terminology
  • Strong analytical and organization skills and abilities
  • Must be able to read and interpret policy, procedures and standards
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team
  • Must have good written and verbal skills
  • Must have good critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Must be able to remain calm and composed in crisis situations
  • Bilingual: Fluent in English/Spanish with regards to reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension of the spoken language

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Developing policy and procedures in alignment with child welfare best practices, Trauma Informed Care and Trust Based Relational Intervention
  • Creating structures and processes for safe and efficient service implementation and establishing program goals and outcome to determine effectiveness of service delivery
  • Directly supervising the Lead Teacher, Lead Supervisor, Recreation Specialist and Transporters
  • Responsible for recruitment, hiring and training of all staff under their supervision and will make recommendations for termination of employees
  • Obtaining continual feedback from UAC served and program staff to ensure continual quality improvement. Ensuring that up-to-date information and policies are shared, received and adhered to
  • Adapting to changing workloads to include work in the evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Supervising, facilitating and participating, as needed, in the implementation of all services as needed
  • Monitoring, observing and evaluating facilities, grounds, vehicles, program staff, and children
  • Assisting with the collection, maintenance and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
  • Must be sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics
  • Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others
  • Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors’ names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information
  • Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Morals Policy is mandatory
  • Every employee is required to take a solution-oriented approach in their interactions and undertakings, as well as being a team member that promotes collaboration and commitment to the Mission and Vision of the organization
  • Attendance and successful completion of a 10- day New Employee Orientation is mandated for the position. The inability to meet this requirement will conclude employment with the Agency
  • Other duties as assigned by the Program Director or Vice President of Programs
