About The Position

The Assistant Professor is a faculty member credentialed and privileged as an MD, with completion of an Ob/Gyn residency, and may have independent surgical experience necessary to provide a full-scope practice. As a member of the OHSU Professional Staff, the Assistant Professor practices in accordance with the relevant bylaws. The Assistant Professor is responsible for providing inpatient and outpatient clinical services as assigned by the supervisor, in support of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach, and public service. Compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, OHSU policies, and professional standards is required.

Requirements

  • MD Degree
  • Oregon Licensure
  • Completion of an Obstetrics and Gynecology residency
  • Potential for Academic accomplishment
  • Board certified or Board eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology

Responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient and outpatient care to high-risk patients at OHSU and low-risk community practice patients at Hillsboro Medical Center.
  • Maintain privileges at both OHSU and Hillsboro Medical Center.
  • Participate in obstetrics and gynecology call duties, some requiring on-site presence.
  • Engage in scholarly activity including teaching, research, grant-supported work, and academic presentations.
  • Provide clinical education to residents and medical students during their Obstetrics and Gynecology rotations.
  • Assist with the clinical training of nurse and APP trainees.
  • Provide formal and informal feedback and evaluation to learners in obstetrics and gynecology.
  • Participate in division and department faculty meetings and serve on OHSU committees as required.
  • Involve in activities supporting the goals and objectives of the division, department, or OHSU as requested.
