About The Position

The primary functions and general purpose of the faculty position are the teaching and facilitation of the educational program. Teaching includes various levels of service, practice and professional development, and scholarship that are commensurate with faculty rank.

Requirements

  • Current license to practice in appropriate field if applicable.
  • Certification may be required in specific educational programs and/or ranks.
  • Education Imaging Programs: Holds baccalaureate or master’s degree and expertise demonstrated through multiple clinical certifications or an approved equivalent.
  • Nursing Programs: Holds a master’s or doctoral degree in appropriate field and expertise in content area, teaching, and/or leadership experience.
  • 3 years clinical experience in appropriate field (required)

Responsibilities

  • Holds minimum degree required per the educational program accreditation standards.
  • Teach up to a maximum workload per academic year as define in ACA 1.01 Faculty Workload policy.
  • Implements the curriculum with effective teaching strategies and evaluation measures.
  • Utilizes innovative teaching strategies/information technologies and provides feedback to facilitate student learning.
  • Participates in shared governance activities and school/college ceremonies.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to lifelong learning that promotes professional development in the areas of content and clinical expertise, teaching and learning, and evaluation strategies.
  • Serves as a professional role model and upholds the values of the institution.
  • Meets specific faculty role expectations and rank expectations as delineated in the Associate Handbook.
  • Promotes a healthy work environment for associates.
  • Provides a student-centered learning environment designed to support student personal and professional growth and achievement of educational goals.
  • Demonstrates analytical skills that lead to curricular improvement.
  • Analyzes evaluation methods to facilitate course improvement.
  • Contributes more than assigned service that supports the institution, the profession, and/or community.
  • Expands knowledge and skills as a subject matter expert, teaching expert, and leader by completing professional development.
