About The Position

The Section of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at the University of Colorado Denver/Children's Hospital Colorado seeks a board certified/board eligible Pediatric Intensivist to complement the clinical and academic activities of the section. This is a full-time position including attending responsibilities in the pediatric intensive care unit, participation in resident and fellow education, pursuit of academic endeavors appropriate for promotion, and contributions to administrative responsibilities. This position will be based at Children's Hospital Colorado in Aurora, CO. The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: · Serve as an attending physician providing care for critically ill children on the Critical Care service at Children’s Hospital Colorado · Provide direct clinical care through scheduled shifts in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) · Pursue scholarly activities aligned with individual expertise and interests · Mentor residents and fellows in clinical and academic settings · Supervise and support advanced practice providers · Lead and take ownership of hospital quality improvement initiatives · Participate in appropriate scholarly work and academic contributions · Serve on hospital or departmental committees as needed

Requirements

  • Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine
  • Board certified / Board eligible in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine
  • Evidence of research success in the area of pediatric pulmonary function and respiratory outcomes
  • Must successfully pass a drug test through Children’s Hospital Colorado
  • Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with professional composure
  • Skill in prioritizing patients and system needs appropriately
  • Knowledge and skill in customer service delivery
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Well-organized and efficient in their work
  • Knowledge of quality improvement, family centered care, and evidence-based practice.

  • Clinical experience in an academic medical center
