About The Position

The University of Central Arkansas Assistant Professor is responsible for teaching, research and service. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. The position is tenure track and a nine-month appointment. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in organic chemistry or closely-related discipline and a strong commitment to teaching, research, and service at the undergraduate level. Course responsibilities include organic chemistry for majors, organic spectroscopy, and chemistry for non-science majors. The department is active in innovative teaching, undergraduate research, and professional service to the university and community. Faculty expertise includes all major chemical sub-disciplines, providing a valuable resource pool for undergraduate instruction and research mentorship. The successful candidate will contribute to a curriculum that encourages students to excel in the classroom and the laboratory, with hands-on training and using state-of-the-art instrumentation. Department graduates are competitive, and successful in graduate and professional programs across the nation. The student ACS chapter is very active in community outreach.
