About The Position

This is a part-time (0.50) Assistant Professor position in the Department of Pediatrics, Section of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine at the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Children’s Hospital Colorado. We are seeking a dynamic, patient-centered, board certified/eligible psychologist to be a part of our expanding and dynamic sleep program. We highly value our clinical provider partners and collaborate with our faculty members to have fulfilling careers. The section of Pediatric Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine has 55 faculty members (to include Sr., Jr., PhD, Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant faculty) and is a multifaceted program, with on-going interests in asthma, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary hypertension, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, cystic fibrosis, sleep medicine, the pediatric airway and medical education. The sleep program has been selected by the hospital for strategic planning and targeted growth and expansion. Additionally, our section has a significant research portfolio (clinical, translational, basic science) as well as a robust clinical portfolio with many quality and safety initiatives and expansion projects. Our fellowship program is highly pursued based on our current and historical reputation. The section of Pediatric Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine is currently ranked #4 in the country by US News and World Report, including a top ranking for reputation. Many of our faculty are locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally known for their expertise.

Requirements

  • PhD or PsyD
  • Licensed Psychologists or License-eligible in the State of Colorado
  • Completion of a psychology internship accredited by the American Psychological Association
  • Completion of a post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology OR equivalent training totaling 500 hours of didactic training and clinical experience
  • Board certification by the Board of Behavioral Sleep Medicine within 5 years of hire
  • Must successfully pass a drug test through Children’s Hospital Colorado
  • Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check
  • Training and experience in the evaluation of children and adolescents with medical, developmental, and psychiatric conditions
  • Awareness of cognitive and behavioral therapies and approaches
  • Experience in provision of individual, family, and group evidence-based therapies
  • Case management coordination
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Nice To Haves

  • Sleep background/interest preferred
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record system, email, and other medical technologies
  • Experience with assessment and treatment of sleep and circadian rhythm disorders and related comorbidities preferred
