With an anticipated start date of August 2026, this position is part of the Office of the Provost Artificial Intelligence (AI) Cluster Hire Initiative, which aims to expand AI interdisciplinary research and instruction across the University This position is part of the cluster, "Development and Application of Multimodal Foundation Models to Clinical Decision Support Systems," which is jointly led by the College of Engineering and Architecture and the College of Medicine. The goal is to bring together and invest in faculty across departments whose research and scholarship are linked through this cluster and to attract faculty members who can bring different perspectives. This cluster aims to recruit scholars with expertise in the development of AI models and multimodal models, as well as their application to electronic medical records (EMR). These efforts will contribute to generating predictive insights about patients' health and well-being, addressing critical challenges in healthcare delivery, and improving health outcomes.
