About The Position

The College of Education invites applications for a tenure-track, 9-month Assistant Professor position in the Department of Early Childhood Education. Preferred start date is August, 2026.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in early childhood education, child development, curriculum and instruction, teacher education, or related fields.
• ABD applicants with ongoing progress will be considered if all degree requirements are complete by June 1, 2027.
• Commitment to excellence in teaching.
• Demonstrated success or potential to teach.
• Three or more years’ experience working in public schools, Head Start programs, and/or other early childhood settings.

Responsibilities

• Teach a wide variety of early childhood and/or gifted education courses at the undergraduate and graduate level.
• Develop a strong body of scholarship using an innovative, collaborative, or interdisciplinary research agenda.
• Work in partnership with public schools, children and families, and/or other early childhood settings.
