About The Position

The Department of Civil Engineering in the College of Engineering and Computer Sciences at Marshall University invites applications for a nine-month faculty position at the Assistant Professor level as (tenure-track with PhD Civil Engineering) or (non-tenure track with MS Civil Engineering). Position Description. The faculty member in this position is required to teach lecture and laboratory courses within transportation engineering and related topics: supervise student projects; pursue scholarly activities and professional development; engage in academic and career mentoring of students; assist in program assessment and execution of a continuous improvement plan; participate in university service; and engage in professional activities and organizations. The position is a 9-month appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. Candidates with an MS degree in Civil Engineering will be considered for hiring as a non-tenure-track, teaching-focused faculty member. Candidates with a PhD degree in Civil Engineering will be considered for hiring as a tenure-track faculty member with teaching and research responsibilities.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Civil Engineering
  • MS or PhD degree in Civil Engineering
  • Specialization in transportation engineering, including traffic, geometric design, pavement, and/or transportation planning

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in the practice of engineering and professional licensure are also desired
