About The Position

Saint Mary's College of California is seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Professor in Theatre Studies for a full-time, tenure-track position. The role involves directing mainstage productions, teaching acting classes, mentoring students, and contributing to program leadership. Requirements

• MFA or other terminal degree in directing and/or acting, or a closely related field.
• A record of successful teaching at the undergraduate level for three years or more.
• Demonstrated artistic excellence in directing fully-realized productions with undergraduate student performers.

• Experience directing professional actors.
• Excellence as a stage director for musical theatre productions.

Responsibilities

• Direct mainstage productions.
• Teach acting classes and courses in directing and collaboration.
• Mentor the student-directed festival of one-act plays.
• Advise majors and minors in the Theatre program.
• Participate in curriculum development and community partnerships.
• Maintain active scholarship in the field of Performing Arts.
• Serve on department and college-wide committees.
