About The Position

The position involves providing accurate diagnosis and assessment of patients to determine appropriate treatment plans and follow-up care, particularly for gynecologic and related cancers. The role requires considerable expertise, judgment, and analytical skills, including the ability to perform radical pelvic operations independently, utilizing minimally invasive and robotic surgical techniques. Surgical procedures include radical hysterectomy, pelvic exenterations, lymphadenectomy, and various other surgical interventions. The position also entails performing patient evaluations, history and physical examinations, and various procedures such as central venous catheter insertion and biopsies. The candidate must maintain advanced knowledge of clinical pharmacology related to cancer treatment and ensure accurate medical record documentation. Additionally, the role includes administrative responsibilities, participation in research, and educational duties.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of clinical pharmacology as applied to cancer chemotherapy.
  • Ability to perform radical pelvic operations independently.
  • Familiarity with current diagnostic and treatment practices for gynecologic cancers.
  • Good verbal assessment skills in face-to-face and telephone encounters.
  • Ability to lift, move, or assist patients weighing up to 200 pounds.
  • Current status of Texas Medical License, DPS, and DEA licenses.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in minimally invasive surgery and robotic surgical techniques.
  • Participation in community-based tumor boards and disease-specific conferences.
  • Membership in local or national associations related to gynecologic oncology.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction in diagnostic, surgical, and therapeutic procedures.
