About The Position

The Department of Teacher Education, Kinesiology, and Educational Studies in the College of Education at DePaul University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning September 1, 2026. We seek a dynamic teacher-scholar who can contribute to the Middle Grades and Secondary Education Program. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong record (or clear potential) of excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.

Responsibilities

  • Teach six undergraduate and graduate courses per academic year (September June) in the Middle Grades and Secondary Education Program, with a focus on one or more of the following areas: science education; mathematics education; assessment; content area and disciplinary literacy; and/or human development.
  • Advise and mentor middle grades and secondary education majors and graduate teacher candidates.
  • Maintain an active and productive research and/or creative arts agenda.
  • Contribute to program development and teacher education accreditation/state licensure activities.
  • Support collaboration across the College and with relevant disciplinary departments.
  • Collaborate with local schools and communities to support partnerships, field-based experiences, and professional development.
  • Provide service to the Middle Grades and Secondary Education Program, the Department of Teacher Education, Kinesiology, and Educational Studies, the college, and university, as appropriate.
