About The Position

The Department of English and Languages at Tarleton State University is seeking an Assistant Professor of Spanish for a tenure-track position. Requirements

• Earned doctorate/terminal degree in the teaching discipline from an accredited university.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Knowledge and understanding of disciplinary subject matter at a level adequate for graduate-level instruction.
• Ability to interact with students, staff, and faculty in a professional and collaborative manner.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver lectures, seminars, and laboratory offerings to undergraduate and graduate students.
• Develop course syllabi, select instructional materials, and design assessments such as exams and quizzes.
• Assess student performance, provide timely feedback, and evaluate student learning outcomes.
• Engage students in active learning and foster critical thinking skills.
• Provide academic support and guidance to students through office hours and mentoring.
• Incorporate innovative teaching methods and technologies to enhance student learning.
• Engage in ongoing professional development activities to stay current in the field.
• Collaborate with colleagues and university staff to coordinate course offerings and contribute to program development.
• Participate in institutional service roles including college committees and student/faculty recruitment.
• Maintain an active agenda for research, scholarship, or creative activity.
