About The Position

The Department of Mathematical Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position as an Assistant Professor in Mathematical Sciences to begin September 1, 2026, with teaching and research responsibilities commencing in the Fall of 2026. In addition to offering a broad array of mathematics and statistics courses at the undergraduate level, the department offers graduate programs leading to five different Master of Science degrees, including Applied Mathematics and Applied Statistics. While applicants with expertise in all fields of statistics and applied mathematics will be considered, preference will be given to candidates who can contribute to teaching in areas of need to the department, including biostatistics, longitudinal data analysis, time series, experimental design, mathematical finance, and operations research. Faculty responsibilities include teaching, advising, maintaining an active program of scholarship, and engaging in university service.
