About The Position

The University of Washington's Department of Asian Languages and Literature is seeking an Assistant Professor for the Hanuma and Anuradha Kodavalla Endowed Chair in Telugu. This tenure-track position emphasizes teaching and research in Telugu literature, cultural studies, or film and media studies, starting in Autumn 2025. The successful candidate will contribute to building a program in Telugu Studies, engage in high-quality teaching and mentoring, and support the department's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or foreign equivalent in a relevant field by the start of the appointment.
  • High level of proficiency in Telugu and ability to engage with Telugu-language primary and secondary materials.
  • Specialization in Telugu literature, cultural studies, or film and media studies.
