The Department of Chemistry at Wayne State University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track Assistant Professor of Teaching, with an anticipated start date of August 18, 2026.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated commitment to effective undergraduate teaching and student success.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate chemistry courses, including general and organic chemistry (lecture and laboratory).
• Contribute to curriculum development and continuous course improvement.
• Advise undergraduate chemistry majors as needed.
• Support student learning through participation in the Chemistry Learning Center.
• Participate in departmental service, including committee work and collaboration with teaching and learning partners.
• Assist with TA training, evaluation, and instructional support as needed.
• Serve as a liaison to campus and external partners (e.g., Office for Teaching and Learning, libraries, schools, or interdisciplinary programs) based on departmental needs.
