About The Position

The Sociology and Anthropology Department at Fairfield University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track assistant professor to join our faculty beginning Fall 2026, pending final budget approval. For full consideration please submit all relevant materials by October 15th, 2025. Candidates should have demonstrated research and teaching strengths in the Sociology of Gender/ Sexualities and contribute to our new data analytics program with expertise in quantitative methods. We expect a successful candidate to teach Social and Political Data Analysis, as well as courses such as Sociology of Sexuality and Feminism, Gender and Everyday Life, as well other courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. in Sociology or a related field by September 1, 2026. We encourage applications from candidates whose research and teaching can contribute to Fairfield’s Magis Core Curriculum.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Sociology or a related field by September 1, 2026.
• Demonstrated research and teaching strengths in the Sociology of Gender/Sexualities.

Responsibilities
