This position is a full-time faculty position in the Social Work Department with duties including: teaching courses, conducting scholarly and creative research, scholarship, student advisement, and service to the department, college, and university. This is a 9-month position. The position reports to Social Work Department Program Director.

Requirements

  • Minimum qualifications include a master’s degree in social work from a CSWE accredited program
  • Knowledge of CSWE standards
  • Minimum of two years of post-MSW professional practice experience
  • Teaching and practice experience should be consistent with the preparation of students for generalist social work practice
  • Experience with technology in the classroom and online course modules is preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior faculty and teaching experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a diversity of BSW program courses.
  • Development and design of new curricula; availability to teach day and evening courses; use of a variety of presentation formats.
  • Student advising.
  • Professional development and service opportunities with the university and in professional organizations in the community.
  • Attendance and participation in all faculty meetings, commencement ceremonies, and other meetings/events as required.
  • Conduct appropriate scholarly and creative activity in field(s) of expertise.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to foster teamwork and by providing leadership to subordinates.
  • Requires consistent on-time attendance.
