The Department of Sociology, Social Work, and Criminology at Idaho State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Social Work beginning August 2026. We seek applicants who can teach core and elective courses within the MSW curriculum. We are open to a variety of research interests for this position, as well as a variety of theoretical and methodological approaches. However, we are especially interested in applicants whose research focus is on rural social work and mental health. Teaching duties for this position are a 3/3 load and include in-class, broadcast (synchronous online), and online (asynchronous) formats. While we are open to a variety of teaching foci, we are particularly interested in candidates who can teach research-oriented classes. The successful candidate will be expected to grow and maintain an active research program, including publishing in scholarly journals and submitting grant proposals, and to fill service roles in the department, college, university, and community. The hired candidate will be based at Idaho State University’s Pocatello campus.
