The Department of Electrical Engineering (EE) at the University at Buffalo (UB), The State University of New York (SUNY), invites candidates to apply for an Assistant Professor faculty position as a Simons Empire Faculty Fellow. The successful candidate is expected to build a strong research and educational program that exemplifies a commitment towards team research, generates impactful research publications, attracts significant public and private research funding, and that demonstrates a dedication to effective teaching. Research topics of interest include, but are not limited to: - Quantum sensing based upon different physical realizations of entangled states - Next-generation atomic clocks - Quantum magnetometry - Gravitational and inertial sensing - Quantum sensors for biomedical applications - Integration and miniaturization of quantum devices and circuits - Error correction and noise mitigation - Fundamental physics tests The School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) has strong professional development and career mentoring programs which will immediately provide the successful candidate with a supportive environment. This candidate will also benefit from collaboration with existing faculty across the College of Arts and Sciences and SEAS with established expertise in Quantum Information Science and Technology (QIST).
