About The Position

The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley is seeking an Assistant Professor in the School of Earth, Environmental and Marine Sciences for a tenure-track position starting in the 2025-2026 academic year. The successful candidate will contribute to the Ocean and Coastal Sciences research program and teach in the Marine Biology B.S. and Coastal, Ocean, and Earth Sciences M.S. degree programs. The role emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration and research in marine disciplines, particularly focusing on ocean productivity, fish ecology, or marine ecosystem services valuation.

Requirements

  • Earned terminal degree (Ph.D.) in a marine discipline or related field.
  • Demonstrated abilities in teaching and research.
  • Post-doctoral experience.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in departmental and university service activities.
