The University of the Pacific is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Public Health and Community Wellness, set to begin in Fall 2025. The role involves teaching, conducting original research, and engaging in program development within the Department of Health and Exercise Sciences, which serves a diverse student body. The successful candidate will contribute to preparing culturally responsive graduates who promote health equity and community wellness.

  • Teach five courses per year, including contributions to the University-wide general education program.
  • Conduct original research in the area of expertise.
  • Assist in program development for Public Health and Community Wellness.
  • Supervise undergraduate and graduate research projects.
  • Engage in professional, departmental, and university activities.
  • Earned Doctorate in Public Health, Community Wellness, Healthcare, or a related field by the time of appointment (ABD considered with established defense date).
  • Demonstrated capability to engage in research.
  • Willingness to supervise undergraduate and graduate research.
  • Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
  • Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.
  • Diversity and equity commitment in hiring and workplace policies.
