About The Position

The University of Cincinnati's Department of Orthopaedic Surgery seeks a dedicated and highly skilled Podiatric Surgeon to join our dynamic and collaborative team as an Assistant Professor. This position offers the opportunity to advance the field through clinical excellence, innovative research, and teaching the next generation of podiatric surgeons. The successful candidate will contribute to the Department's mission of delivering exceptional patient care, education, and research in a collegial academic environment.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) or foreign equivalent.
  • Completion of a Podiatric Medicine & Surgery Residency program.
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Ohio.
  • Must have obtained a Doctorate or terminal degree from a regionally accredited college or university of recognized standing in a field appropriate to the requirements of the position.
  • For positions within Performing and Studio Arts or Nursing, an appropriate Master's degree may replace the Doctoral requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert clinical and surgical care in podiatric medicine, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of foot and ankle conditions, deformities, and injuries across a varied patient population.
  • Perform advanced surgical procedures, including reconstructive, arthroscopic, and minimally invasive foot and ankle surgeries, and participate in trauma or call coverage as assigned.
  • Teach and mentor residents, contributing to the academic mission through formal instruction and clinical supervision.
  • Engage in scholarly activities, including clinical or translational research, with an expectation to contribute to publications, presentations, and potential grant or clinical trial funding.
  • Participate in departmental collaboration, supporting strategic initiatives, program development, and multidisciplinary care coordination within the academic medical center.
