About The Position

The Department of Physical Therapy at Ithaca College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-eligible faculty member at the rank of assistant professor, with coursework beginning August 2026. Join one of the nation's oldest and most prestigious physical therapy programs with a distinguished 77-year history. Our program maintains one of New York State's highest NPTE licensure pass rates and ranks in the top 25% nationally. We seek a dedicated educator who is committed to excellence in physical therapy education. The successful candidate will develop and implement DPT-level curriculum using active learning strategies that foster an inclusive classroom environment. This role offers opportunities for clinical teaching, clinically focused scholarship, student mentoring through our on-campus clinic, academic advising, and meaningful service contributions.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted physical therapy license in any U.S. jurisdiction and Physical therapy licensure in New York State by appointment date.
  • Terminal degree (PhD, EdD, DSc) in related field or completion of an ABPTRFE-accredited non-clinical residency program.
  • Commitment to excellence in physical therapy education.
  • Evidence of scholarly promise with a developed or emerging research agenda.

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise in musculoskeletal/orthopedics and/or evidence-based practice.
  • At least 3 years of clinical experience.
  • Possession of ABPTS Board certification.
  • Teaching experience in academic or residency/fellowship settings.
  • History of scholarly publications/presentations.

Responsibilities
