About The Position

The Duquesne University School of Pharmacy seeks to fill a renewable 12-month non-tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor or instructor level to teach pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences courses. We seek an outstanding teacher who can contribute to the didactic effort in the on-campus and online pathways in the professional pharmacy program (PharmD). The hired individual will be expected to teach multiple topics from the following subjects: Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacology, Pathophysiology, Principles of drug action.

Requirements

• PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related discipline, or PharmD with MS and/or postgraduate training.

Nice To Haves

• Relevant teaching experience at the college or PharmD level and/or pedagogy training is viewed as an advantage.
• Preference will be given to applicants who have participated in the development of academic classes and/or curricula.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the University Community.
• Ability and willingness to contribute actively to the mission of the University and to respect the Spiritan Catholic identity of Duquesne University.

Responsibilities

• Teaching in the on-campus and online pathways in the professional pharmacy program.
• Teaching in at least 3 of the above listed areas.
• Develops electives in specific areas of interest.
• Proficiency teaching in a large class setting is expected.
• Participation in School and University service assignments.
• Supports student success through advising and coaching.
• Directs undergraduate research.
