Texas A&M University–Kingsville invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Organismal & Conservation Biology. We seek a biologist whose research and teaching focus on the conservation, ecology, and management of organisms. We welcome applicants from a wide range of organismal disciplines, including both vertebrate and invertebrate zoology, and we especially encourage applications from candidates whose expertise strengthens or complements existing departmental strengths. Areas of emphasis may include— but are not limited to—traditional organismal fields such as herpetology, mammalogy, ornithology, ichthyology, entomology, invertebrate zoology, aquatic biology, or parasitology, as well as broad ecological research areas related to the conservation and management of organisms, populations, communities, or ecosystems—regardless of the biological or ecological scale of study. We also welcome applicants working in emerging conservation-oriented disciplines, including invasive species biology, conservation/ecological genomics, biodiversity informatics, or related fields. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, develop classes in their area of expertise, and maintain an active research program involving students.
