The Pediatric Optometrist will provide comprehensive pediatric vision exams and eye care services in community-based settings as part of the Casey Eye Institute's Community Outreach Program's Oregon Elks Vision Health Network. This role supports mobile and school-based vision clinics, with a specific focus on serving children in the rural school districts in Jefferson and Jewell. In addition to delivering clinical care, the optometrist will collaborate closely with school nurses, nurse aides, and local primary care clinics to coordinate follow-up care with local eye care providers. The optometrist will also train and mentor local health advocates to serve as Children's Vision Health Navigators, strengthening sustainable vision health systems within these communities. Additionally, the optometrist will contribute to program evaluation efforts by supporting data collection, identifying gaps in care, and informing quality improvement strategies.

Requirements

• Requires a Doctor of Optometry degree
• Current Oregon and Washington Optometry licensure.
