Metro State University is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Supply Chain and Operations Management to join the Marketing, Supply Chain Operations, and International Business Department. The position aims to provide high-quality education to a diverse student body, engage in scholarly activities, and contribute to the university's mission of promoting equity and inclusion. The role will commence on August 18, 2025, and involves teaching, research, and community service.

  • Teach Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Project Management, and/or Business or Supply Chain Analytics courses effectively to a post-traditional student population.
  • Engage in scholarly activity, creative achievement, and/or research.
  • Provide evidence of continuing preparation and study.
  • Contribute to student growth and development through advising and assistance.
  • Engage in service to the university and community.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to serving a diverse student body by delivering a student-centered education and using approaches that support equitable outcomes for all students.
  • Provide excellent learning environments through in-person, online, hybrid, and/or HyFlex course modalities.
  • A completed terminal degree (Ph.D. or DBA) in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated interest in a faculty position that prioritizes teaching and emphasizes teaching excellence.
  • A plan for scholarly activity, creative achievement, and/or research in the specified discipline(s).
  • Effective communication skills (written & verbal) to communicate with a variety of persons and groups.
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with students and colleagues who are culturally, economically, and linguistically diverse.
  • Specific Technical, Computer, and/or Software skills as needed.
  • Two years of experience teaching multi-modal courses at post-secondary education in supply chain management, operations management, or project management.
  • Demonstrated experience in AI techniques, including teaching and research in machine learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, and large language models.
  • Demonstrated experience using technology-driven teaching methods such as simulations, case studies, and hands-on labs.
  • Demonstrated experience in incorporating appropriate software to teach courses such as Python, R, Excel, SAS, SAP, or MS Project.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing relationships with industry.
  • Membership and participation with professional organizations like ASCM, CSCMP, ISM, and PMI.
  • Minimum of one publication in a refereed journal related to supply chain management, operations management, or project management in the past 5 years.
  • Proficiency in STEM pedagogy.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness teaching at a post-secondary level.
  • Experience developing course curricula at a post-secondary institution.
  • Demonstrated contributions to assessment of student learning at a post-secondary institution.
  • Professional development and/or expertise in culturally responsive pedagogy, anti-racist pedagogy, and/or universal design.
  • Experience as an academic advisor for students at a post-secondary institution.
  • Salary is commensurate with education and experience and is determined by the salary placement process as outlined in the Inter Faculty Organization (IFO) Master Agreement.
