About The Position

The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College (UC Blue Ash College) invites applications for a full-time, Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Social Work position in our Behavioral Science Department starting August 15, 2026. The position involves preparing and teaching a variety of undergraduate-level social work courses, engaging in program coordination, conducting research, and participating in shared governance within the college. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and delivering course content, evaluating student coursework, and providing mentorship outside the classroom.

Requirements

  • Eligible for LSW licensure in Ohio as determined by the Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage & Family Therapist Board.
  • A PhD in Social Work or closely related field recognized by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) prior to effective date of appointment.
  • Teaching experience equivalent to teaching 4 semester-based undergraduate courses in social work or closely related field as the instructor of record.

Responsibilities

  • Review and respond to all University-related communications in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and teach a variety of undergraduate-level social work courses (typically four per semester).
  • Create and deliver course content through in-person and online formats.
  • Evaluate student coursework and provide timely feedback.
  • Maintain routine communication with students and provide assistance and mentoring outside the classroom.
  • Coordinate program activities such as textbook selection and course scheduling.
  • Serve as a departmental representative at student recruitment events.
  • Engage in limited levels of discipline-specific and/or scholarship of teaching and learning research.
  • Participate in shared governance by serving on department, college, and/or university committees.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
