About The Position

Rockhurst University is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Psychology to join its Department of Psychology, Justice, and Society. This full-time position, beginning in August 2025, focuses on undergraduate teaching and research, with a commitment to mentoring students and engaging in departmental service. The successful candidate will teach a variety of psychology courses and contribute to the development of specialized courses, while also maintaining an active research agenda.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Cognitive or Experimental Psychology.
• Evidence of teaching excellence in higher education.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage in research that results in publications and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Teach a wide range of psychology courses including Intro. to Psychology, Health Psychology, Perception, Learning, Motivation, Experimental Methods, and Statistics.
• Advise and mentor undergraduate students.
• Engage in service with the department, college, and university.
• Develop specialized courses for the psychology program.
• Conduct research that results in publications and presentations.
