About The Position

Dean College is looking for a dynamic, experienced, student-centered educator to join the faculty to teach courses in the Psychology program for Fall 2026. The successful candidate will teach an array of courses including Human Development: The Life Span, Child Development, Adolescent Development, General Psychology, Personality Theories, and others. The candidate should be a generalist who can teach a wide array of psychology courses. All School of Liberal Arts and Sciences academic programs are grounded in the liberal arts, stress experiential learning, and seek to develop a career mindset in students to prepare them for life after Dean. Salary range: $69,000-$72,000 per year, commensurate with experience. The College also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement contributions, and generous paid time off. Requirements

  • PhD in Psychology is required, with a preferred emphasis in developmental, social or personality psychology.
  • Full-time undergraduate teaching experience is preferred. Priority will be given to candidates with experience teaching courses in Human, Child and/or Adolescent Development, Abnormal Psychology, Social Psychology, General Psychology and/or Personality theories. Additional course expertise is welcome.
  • Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and innovative classroom pedagogy is a plus.
  • Candidates must have a demonstrated passion for teaching, for providing transformational learning experiences, and for teaching to a diverse population of undergraduates at varying stages of academic readiness.
  • Experience with course management systems (i.e., Canvas), digital technology, and Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience teaching asynchronous, online courses is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • An overall equivalent of 15 contact hours each semester
  • Hold office hours as required and meet with students by appointment.
  • Coach and mentor students regarding academic and career goals including graduate school preparation.
  • Direct student research projects.
  • Participate in committees as assigned, attend school and program meetings;
  • Participate in recruitment activities and student orientations;
  • There is no faculty advising load. Students are served by a professional advising staff.
  • Other duties as required or assigned.
