About The Position

The Social and Behavioral Sciences Department at Newberry College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Psychology to begin August 2026. The search is an open-area search; however, candidates with a physiological background are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Psychology (or ABD with expected completion by August 2026).
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching and commitment to a liberal arts undergraduate education.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate psychology courses, including introductory courses, social science research-based courses, and courses in the candidate's area of expertise.
• Advise and mentor psychology majors.
• Contribute to service at the departmental, college, and community levels.
• Contribute to scholarly activities within the greater psychology community and specific discipline.
