About The Position

The Department of Psychological Science at the University of Arkansas invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology. Appointment is set to begin August 2026. This is a standard, nine-month faculty appointment with a competitive startup package. All areas of Clinical Science will be considered, but we would prefer a scholar who focuses on children and adolescents, including a focus on middle/high school age youth. We are also open to those who study (a) neuropsychological or forensic assessment, (b) serious mental illness including psychotic and mood disorders, or (c) digital mental health. Ideal applicants are those whose research can link with and complement other faculty, including those who may wish to affiliate with the forthcoming Center for Community-Engaged Health Equity Research, and evidence of active pursuit and/or obtaining of extramural funding.

Requirements

  • PhD from an APA-accredited health service psychology program (Clinical, Counseling, School, or combined) and be licensed or license-eligible in the state of Arkansas
  • Evidence of an outstanding record of research achievement
  • Demonstration of strong commitment to both graduate-level training and undergraduate instruction, including the ability to teach, supervise, and mentor students from a wide variety of backgrounds
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise a range of clinical work including psychological assessments and therapy for people across the lifespan (including children and adolescents)
