The School of Music at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Piano to start August 1, 2025. We seek an artist/teacher with experience working with students from diverse musical, social, and cultural backgrounds. The ideal candidate will be an experienced teacher and mentor of undergraduate and graduate students and will fulfill duties and responsibilities commensurate with academic positions at a leading institution. In addition to teaching applied piano at the undergraduate and graduate levels, teaching responsibilities may include courses such as Piano Literature, Keyboard Harmony, and/or Graduate Piano Seminar. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to incorporate diverse perspectives, including non-Western musical traditions and community-based music practices, into their teaching. The position also requires engagement in regional, national, and international creative activities and research, such as prominent performances or publications, and participation in recruitment and faculty governance service activities. As a member of the School of Music faculty, the Assistant Professor of Piano will contribute to ongoing equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives in the school.
