About The Position

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Associate Professor in the School of Physical Sciences - Physics Program. We are seeking an accomplished and highly motivated faculty member to contribute to the academic, research, and service missions of the university. Requirements

• Ph.D. in Physics, with a focus in experimental or theoretical areas of condensed matter physics.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research, publish in high-impact journals, and secure external funding.
• Experience in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

• Experience with online or hybrid course delivery.
• Demonstrated leadership in collaborative research efforts and student mentorship.
• A record of external funding (e.g., from NSF, NIH, or industry).
• Experience with interdisciplinary research.

Responsibilities

• Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in physical sciences, including but not limited to physics, chemistry, and earth sciences.
• Maintain a strong, active, and independent research program in a specific area of physical sciences, leading to peer-reviewed publications and external funding.
• Advise and mentor students at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Contribute to program, school, college, and university service, including committee work, curriculum development, and participation in university-wide initiatives.
• Enhance the School’s visibility by participating in community outreach programs, fostering relationships with industry, and promoting physical sciences education.
