The University of Louisville SOM Dept. of Pediatrics, Division of Hematology, Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplant, is recruiting a pediatric scientist for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor Rank. This position is supported through the Kentucky Top Talent initiative, funded by the Kentucky Pediatric Cancer Research Trust Fund. Selected candidates will develop robust, independent research programs addressing critical questions in pediatric oncology, with priority areas including CNS tumors, sarcomas, and leukemia. Research may focus on cancer prevention, tumor biology, diagnosis, treatment approaches, psychosocial support, or survivorship outcomes. Candidates may also optionally work with our existing CAR-T/cellular therapy translational research program. This position offers a competitive three-year startup package including salary support, research development funding, and access to institutional resources such as shared core facilities, statistical support, and faculty development programs with dedicated mentorship teams to support the transition to independent extramural funding. Norton Children’s Cancer Institute treats 100-110 new oncology cases annually and actively enrolls in Children’s Oncology Group trials, providing excellent clinical research opportunities in a state that ranks 7th nationally in pediatric cancer incidence. Salary will be commensurate with training and experience.
