Qualified applicants are sought for a full-time Assistant Professor position in Music with a Vocal emphasis. Duties will include teaching undergraduate music courses, applied vocal lessons, choral directing, administrative responsibilities such as hiring new faculty and program assessment, student academic advising, and organizing concerts, recitals, auditions, and juries.

  • Teach undergraduate music courses
  • Provide applied vocal lessons
  • Direct choral activities
  • Engage in administrative responsibilities such as hiring new faculty and program assessment
  • Advise students academically
  • Organize concerts, recitals, auditions, and juries
  • Engage in assessment at all levels within the Music Program
  • Maintain necessary paperwork and records based on requirements set forth by the dean
  • Provide quality instruction and advising to students
  • Demonstrate interpersonal/intrapersonal skills
  • Practice equity and inclusion within a diverse student community
  • Display evidence of personal agency and initiative
  • Demonstrate organizational skills for curriculum management and program design
  • Contribute positively to a dynamic setting with collaborative faculty
  • Master’s degree in music or a related field; terminal degree preferred
  • Documentation of successful experience as an undergraduate professor or post-secondary teacher for music courses
  • Evidence of a successful career in this or a related field
  • Experience and network in the Middle Tennessee region preferred
