The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Oakland University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Mathematics, in the area of continuous mathematics, beginning Fall Semester 2019. Responsibilities of this position include teaching, research, and contribution to the Department’s program. For this appointment, candidates must have a Ph.D. in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics (or its requirements completed) by August 15, 2019. The primary selection criteria will be an applicant’s potential for quality research and effective teaching in support of the Department’s instructional responsibilities including all levels of undergraduate mathematics as well as graduate mathematics. Amongst applicants who are found highly qualified with respect to these criteria, preference will be given to those in continuous mathematics and those with strong research collaboration with members of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, including areas of PDEs, Numerical Analysis, and Dynamical Systems. Candidates must demonstrate experience with or a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
