About the position

The University of Hawai?i at Manoa is seeking an Assistant Professor of Marketing for the Shidler College of Business - Marketing Department. This is a tenure track, full-time position anticipated to begin in Fall 2026, subject to position clearance and availability of funds. The initial screening of applications will start on July 16, 2025, with interviews conducted via digital media between August 11 and August 25, 2025. The salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience, and the position is temporary with a monthly type of 9 months.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate, graduate, and executive courses in marketing as needed
  • Conduct research and engage in scholarly activities
  • Participate in university, college, departmental, and other service activities

Requirements

  • Earned Ph.D. in Marketing or related field, or near completion of Ph.D.
  • Evidence of potential to publish high quality research in top business or related field journals
  • Evidence of potential to teach effectively at the university level

Nice-to-haves

  • Specific examples of achievement in research, including published or forthcoming papers in peer reviewed journals in marketing or related fields
  • Quality dissertation research completed or in progress
  • Teaching interests and/or experience in quantitative marketing methods, marketing strategy, digital marketing, consumer behavior, or sustainable marketing
  • Written and verbal communication skills critical to effective presentation of research and classroom instruction
