The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Management Information Systems and will develop new courses and update existing curriculum to reflect current trends in information systems and technology innovation. The position includes advising and mentoring students, integrating applied technology experiences into instruction, and participating in departmental, college, and university service activities. Teaching responsibilities include core courses in management information systems, software productivity tools, database systems, systems analysis and design, information security and privacy, geographic information systems, and business analytics. Graduate teaching may include information systems for leaders and applied decision support systems. The candidate is expected to demonstrate expertise in information systems concepts and applications, including data and database management, analytics, systems development, decision support, and emerging technologies. The candidate is expected to teach applied, tool-based courses using platforms such as Excel, R, Python, SQL, ArcGIS, and other analytics and decision-support tools. Experience or interest in teaching and developing courses in artificial intelligence and generative AI applications in business is desirable. The successful candidate will maintain an active program of scholarly research with publications in peer-reviewed academic journals consistent with departmental and college expectations and will contribute to departmental initiatives in program development, assessment, and interdisciplinary collaboration in support of the College of Business and Public Administration mission. The successful candidate is expected to contribute meaningfully to departmental, college, and university service, and to meet the department’s service criteria. This includes, but is not limited to, participation in accreditation and assessment efforts, engagement in professional service within the MIS discipline, and involvement in activities that support the mission of the institution and its students and community.
